Almost everywhere you look on the internet, there are people complaining about the state of modern dating. Incels bemoan that miraculously, being a jerk means they can't get laid, and some women are so desperate to find a 'provider' that they insist an ice cream for a first date just isn't good enough. Everyone is too eager to ghost at the first sign of difficulty, and not willing to treat us all like the precious catch that we are. To listen to some, you would think love and romance had never been more difficult.
I'm inclined to disagree. While it might have been easier to find a partner in offline times, that doesn't necessarily mean that couples were happier. However, no one can deny that the dating scene today has its issues. This is what was discussed in a recent Twitter thread, where the problems of contemporary romance were hashed out in detail. Being in a relationship can be great, but it isn't everything!
